Rising early the following day, Max prepared breakfast for Zoe, where he attempted to replicate Elena’s breakfast special of poached and smashed avocadoes on toast.

They sat side-by-side at the kitchen island, catching up on the gossip from Zoe’s time in London, more than ecstatic to have her home again and his life back to some normality.

He said, “I’m just going to get a bit of work done, sweetie,” kissing her forehead to connect with her pineal gland – before heading to his office.

Zoe lazed on the sofa, flicking through the channels, searching for a movie to watch, while casually dressed in her comfy tracksuit pants, hooded windcheater and Ugg boots, just like a classic Aussie bogan. However, after not finding anything worthwhile to watch, she joined Elena in the kitchen for another coffee.

Max was secretly elated that the Odysseus pseudo-satellite was just six weeks from delivery; after his credentials flawlessly passed scrutinous checklists following cross-examination from ASIO and Interpol agencies – cleared as “non-suspicious”.

And Max knew that if his mission to find more land on Earth was to be successful, he needed to build a team of experts to join him, as he obviously couldn’t complete the mission on his own.

But more importantly, he needed to make the mission as safe as possible for the accompanying crew, where no person in their right mind would depart to an unknown destination without a failsafe plan, or even more so, without solid, tangible proof of more land. And Max was confident that the Odysseus would provide him with a method to prove it unequivocally.

However, nothing worried him more than announcing to Zoe that he wanted to venture beyond unknown horizons to find unexplored land. Because anyone who knew Zoe’s feisty nature – well, they very well understood that she was going to crack it!

Opening his password-protected word-processing document, he continued to compile a list of skill sets required, essential to make a crewed mission a success. And to date, his short-list comprised of a pilot, navigator, flight crew, security personnel, doctor, nurse, botanist, cooks, a theologian, and a biologist; amongst many others. The list was becoming extensive. Even after trimming down the numbers, it would take approximately thirty brave crewmembers to accomplish a manned expedition.

Closing the file, Max was once again researching Flat Earth. Relentlessly trying to absorb as much information on the subject as possible.

He noted that many Flat Earth researchers were conducting independent experiments from many locations worldwide, including long-distant laser tests across flat-level water and long distant observations with high-powered digital zoom cameras, many exceeding 100-kilometres. With the researchers sharing their experiments on dedicated websites, video channels, and various social media platforms.

Two independent researchers, who in their efforts to “Test the Globe”, went to the extent of debunking a weather reporter; who the latter ludicrously asserted that a long-distant photo sent in by a viewer, Joshua Nowicki, which clearly showed Chicago from across Lake Michigan (spanning a distance of approximately 100 kilometres) was a superior mirage created by an
